Job Title: Marine Engineering Electrical Trainer
Location: HMS Sultan, Gosport
Salary - £37,000-£39,500
Role Overview:
A leading training provider is seeking a Marine Engineering Electrical Trainer to deliver high-quality instruction in electrical and electronic engineering principles. Based at HMS Sultan in Gosport, the trainer will play a vital role in equipping trainees with essential skills while upholding the highest training and safety standards.
This position is ideal for a candidate with consolidated technical expertise and instructional experience, particularly in a military or civilian environment.
What you’ll be doing.
*Deliver training in electrical and electronic engineering principles according to established training plans and operating procedures.
*Maintain and update training documentation to reflect current standards and practices.
*Assess trainees’ coursework, providing constructive feedback on their performance.
*Ensure trainees’ welfare and duty of care throughout training delivery.
*Perform maintenance on training equipment within the scope of qualifications and experience.
*Adhere to security, health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
What we’re looking for.
Essential:
*Level 4 Teaching Qualification or equivalent (e.g., Defence Train the Trainer Course).
*Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
*Proficiency with IT systems and tools in the workplace.
Desirable:
*Experience teaching electrical theory, electrical safety, power distribution, high voltage systems, electrical maintenance, and related disciplines.
*Previous instructional experience within the last five years, ideally in marine electrical and electronic systems.
*Familiarity with course development for technical training.
Experience and Skills:
*Hands-on experience in electrical and electronic engineering principles within the past five years.
*Knowledge of marine systems, including power distribution, electrical test equipment, and high voltage systems.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, trainees, and stakeholders.
*Leadership qualities that foster accountability, team motivation, and a culture of continuous improvement.
