Job Description:
ROLE: Operations Director
SALARY: Up to £70,000 plus 30% bonus
LOCATION: Wednesbury (office based)
THE COMPANY:We are currently working with a supplier and manufacturer of electrical consumables, based in Wednesbury, who are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Director to oversee their Warehouse, Quality Control and Prefabrication teams.
BENEFITS:
*Salary c£65,000 basic DOE.
*30% annual bonus (based on company and individual performance).
*30 days annual leave.
*£550 monthly car allowance.
THE CANDIDATE: The right candidate will have a strong management and leadership background as an Operations Manager or Operations Director, it would be advantageous if your commercial experience is within manufacturing/distribution but this is not essential.
Due to the nature of the business, the successful individual will have a hands-on approach to management and the ability to drive change with a high-performance culture.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
This role is working within a 5 day Mon to Friday operation with no weekends or night shift patterns.
Warehousing Operations
*Ensure safe and efficient storage, handling, and dispatch, while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
*Optimise inventory management, space utilisation, and efficiency through systems and lean processes.
Quality Control
*Lead quality control processes to ensure adherence to standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
*Oversee audits, inspections, and corrective actions to maintain and enhance product quality.
Prefabrication Operations
*Manage prefabrication to meet quality and schedule goals while improving productivity and reducing waste.
*Collaborate with teams and use performance metrics to streamline processes and minimise downtime.
Leadership and Team Management
*Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance standards to cross-functional teams and departmental leaders.
*Foster collaboration, ensure safety compliance, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement
*Develop operational strategies with senior management, focusing on cost savings and efficiency improvements.
*Drive innovation through continuous improvement projects and by leveraging industry trends and best practices.
