Science Technician Vacancy - Secondary School in Heywood (Rochdale)
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Science Technician to join our secondary school in Heywood, Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of science lessons.
*Position: Science Technician
*Location: Heywood, Rochdale
*Hours: Monday to Friday
*Salary: Up to £110 per day
*Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare, organize, and maintain equipment and materials for science lessons
*Support science teachers during practical sessions and experiments
*Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
*Maintain and clean laboratory spaces, ensuring they meet safety standards
*Assist with stock management, including ordering and organizing resources
*Support students during practical lessons, providing guidance when needed
The Ideal Candidate:
*Previous experience working as a Science Technician, preferably in a secondary school setting
*Full understanding and practical application of COSHH regulations
*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
*Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
