Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Operator to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and compliant handling of import operations, directly contributing to the timely and effective delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Import Coordination: Oversee all aspects of the import process, from initial documentation through to final delivery, ensuring that each shipment is handled accurately and efficiently.
* Customs Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant customs regulations and ensure that all import activities align with legal and industry requirements.
* Client and Supplier Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers, and agents, providing clear updates and resolving any issues to maintain strong working relationships.
* Documentation Management: Prepare and verify import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
* Issue Resolution: Quickly identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to import shipments, minimizing delays and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and operations teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support continuous improvements across the business.
* Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all import transactions for auditing, reporting, and compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Proven experience in import operations or a similar role within the shipping or logistics industry.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of customs regulations, import procedures, and the documentation involved in international shipping.
* Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for building and maintaining professional relationships.
* Organisation: Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
* Tech Savvy: Proficient in using integrated IT systems for logistics and supply chain management.
