Project Engineering Team Leader

Role Purpose
The Project Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers to support the delivery of project and maintenance contracts and the Technical Support / Help Desk team.
Role Profile
Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, the Project Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for leading and growing our client’s maintenance business alongside supporting project delivery via a team of Project Engineers and Technical Specialists.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Field Services:
*Manage existing contracts including scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities
*Develop new maintenance offers with the Business Development team to grow maintenance revenues in line with business objectives
*Lead the Technical Support / Help Desk team and develop and report upon appropriate KPIs
*Lead field support and training services, scheduling internal resources and managing their delivery
*Collate Technical Support / Help Desk team statistics to support product development
Project Engineering Resource Management:
*Leadership of a team of Project Engineers and Technical Specialists
*Allocation and management of resources to project delivery and business development activities including design support for tenders
*Supporting Project Managers to ensure project requirements are delivered on time and within budget
*Reviewer / approver of project design documentation
Other:
*Produce revenue forecasts, budget plans and strategies for growth
*Approver of HSE documentation for on-site activities (method statements, task brief sheets and risk assessments)
*Become the point of escalation for technical issues within the Project Engineering department
*Support the Head of Project Engineering to deliver long-term sustainable growth for the business unit
Experience Required
*Management of technical and / or engineering resource in a project delivery environment (e.g. Design Manager)
*Operating in or management of a maintenance organisation offering 3rd line technical support and preventative / corrective maintenance
*Specifying and delivering public address, voice alarm, passenger help point and intercom solutions using a range of standard products and control systems
*Assessment of design risk and developing appropriate mitigation and control measures
*Production of project deliverable documentation (e.g. Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) etc.)
*Continuous assessment of work flow processes and change management to align with and drive business growth
*Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
*Client-facing skills and commercial acumen
*Managing health and safety and contractual obligations
*Strong leadership and people management skills
*Budget and revenue forecasting
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in a relevant subject such as Electronic Engineering / Computer Science or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Possession of a Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM would be desirable. Training will be provided on the company’s product range.
