In-House Chef
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to manage our onsite canteen, a key resource for our staff. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and ambitious team, near Basingstoke.
Role Overview
As the In-House Chef, you will oversee the daily operations of the canteen, serving free morning croissants, fresh coffee, and lunches while creating a welcoming and appetizing experience for all. You will have the creative freedom to design simple yet delicious menus, including staples like salads, sandwiches, soups, and weekly specials, using seasonal ingredients to encourage employees to return regularly.
This hands-on role includes food preparation, cooking, reheating, assembling, and serving meals. You will also manage food orders, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and prioritize customer satisfaction. Ensuring high hygiene standards is essential, with a focus on improving the current food hygiene rating from 3 stars to 5 stars and maintaining this standard consistently.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and serve customer orders tailored to their preferences.
*Cater for boardroom meetings and corporate lunches.
*Implement efficient pre-order systems to ensure timely delivery of meals.
*Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitary regulations.
*Oversee canteen and kitchen health and safety protocols.
*Champion food hygiene standards and practices.
*Innovate with new dishes to attract staff to the canteen.
*Manage food stock, ensuring consistent supply and compliant inventory control.
Skills and Experience
*Friendly, personable attitude with the ability to remember and engage with individuals by name.
*Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
*Strong attention to detail.
*Good numeracy skills.
