The Talent Crowd are recruiting for an Occupational Therapist in the Manchester City Council area.
Seeking an Occupational Therapist with experience in learning disability and moving and handling.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new OT role within social care, working with adults with learning disabilities (LD) and autism.
The OT will be assessing the level of care provided to LD citizens in supported living, or those who will be moving into supported living. They will have a good understanding of managing challenging behaviours including sensory and environmental interventions, moving and handling techniques, equipment/adaptations, and assistive technology to enhance the citizen’s independence, and optimise the level of care received. The OT will provide assessment to support citizens to move in or out of supported living dependant on the complexity of their needs, and suitability of accommodation.
The role will be sat within the Principal Occupational Therapy Team, and report to the Moving and Handling Optimisation Team Manager (OT). The OT will work closely with the Social Work LD team, and Health LD therapists. 
Must have well developed knowledge of LD, autism and managing challenging behaviours.
Must have experience of moving and handling including undertaking risk assessments and providing training to carers. Experience in single handed care is desirable.
City wide role so car driver is essential.
