Day Centre Coordinator - Supporting Individuals to Overcome Rough Sleeping
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Day Centre Coordinator to oversee the smooth running of a direct access day centre, providing essential services and tailored support to those rough sleeping.
This role is crucial in creating a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can access food, laundry, and bathing facilities, as well as engage in recovery-focused groups and interventions. Working closely with external agencies, the role aims to address the root causes of homelessness and help individuals move toward sustainable accommodation and recovery.
Benefits:
*Salary: £23900-£25000 doe
*Hours of work 37hrs (shifts and weekends)

About the Job:
*Coordinating day centre services, including basic facilities and donation management.
*Supporting service users to address issues such as housing, benefits, mental health, substance misuse, and physical health.
*Facilitating recovery groups and maintaining a timetable of activities.
*Work together with outreach teams to identify and meet individual support needs.
*Promoting trauma-informed and person-centred approaches to care.
*Building partnerships with external organisations to provide specialist support.
*Ensuring the centre remains safe, clean, and well-maintained, including completing health and safety checks.
*Motivating and supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs.
*Working knowledge of housing, health, and homelessness services.
*Experience in assessing client needs and creating support plans.
Skills:
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Conflict management and problem-solving abilities.
*Competency with IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
*A compassionate, recovery-focused approach.
*Commitment to diversity, equality, and professional boundaries.
*Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends.
*NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care, Housing, or related fields.
*Knowledge of welfare benefits.
