Job Description:
Management Accountant who is fully or part qualified with experience preparing month-end accounts, monthly reconciliations, VAT returns and supporting the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in preparing financial reports for the Board is required for a well-established Global Consultancy based in Brighton, East Sussex.
SALARY: circa.£37,000 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Hybrid Working / Brighton, East Sussex (2 Days per Week in the Central Brighton Office with the rest of the Finance Team on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 3 Days per Week from Home)

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Management Accountantwho is fully or part qualified with experience preparing month-end accounts, monthly reconciliations, VAT returns and supporting the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in preparing financial reports.
Working as the Management Accountant you will join a Finance Team of 10 which aims to be a true business partner, providing business support and technical expertise to aid decision-making, support future growth, and safeguard the company’s financial assets. This is achieved through two primary functions: Central Finance, which supports the Board with financial reporting, projections, and technical advice, focusing on financial accounting, compliance, and best practice; and Finance Business Partnering, which supports Practices by analysing and predicting Revenue and Gross Profit performance to aid commercial decisions and fulfil financial reporting obligations to customers.

DUTIES
The role will sit primarily within the Central Finance function, however, there will be opportunity to assist the Business Partnering function should there be the desire to do so.
The Central Management Accountant is a key role within the Central Finance function. Key areas of responsibility include:
*Line management and development of 2 finance administrators
*Ensuring timely and accurate month-end management accounts for the Board
*Completion of the monthly reconciliations
*Monthly variance analysis on overhead lines
*Assisting the Head of Finance & Finance Manager in preparation of the Board reports
*Functional oversight of the purchase ledger and expenses
*Oversight of the weekly payment run process
*Managing approvals on monthly invoices and supplier onboarding process
*Daily treasury management
*Preparing and submitting corporate reporting, including VAT returns
*Review of payroll and pension, alongside HR & outsourced payroll provider
*Liaising with the unit heads on budgeting and forecasting reports
*Assisting the management & delivery of the annual year-end audit
*Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date system alongside the internal financial controls
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
*Pro-active thinker with a natural ability to identify ways to improve existing processes and establish new approaches
*Able to work and communicate with all levels of the business using strong written and interpersonal skills.
*The desire to be a team player with the ability to work autonomously when appropriate
*Experience of and desire to line manage and support personal development
*Comfortable working with accountancy software, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365
*Desirable: Experience working in a finance role within a project or people-based industry and/or within a similar industry e.g., international development / NGOs.
*Desirable: AAT qualified and/or working towards CIMA / ACCA
