Job Description:
RM Recruit Ltd is working in partnership with our Birmingham based education client to recruit a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a forward thinking organisation where you will work closely with the CEO and make a positive impact in the finance function.
Main duties include:
*Production of monthly management accounts with commentary
*Leading annual and quarterly forecasting
*Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets across multiple sites, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
*Develop and implement long-term financial plans to support the organisation’s growth and sustainability.
*Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
*Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
*Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous professional development.
*Work closely with senior leaders, trustees, and external partners to provide financial advice and support strategic decision-making.
*Enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and ensure accurate reporting.
*Identify and manage financial risks, providing mitigation strategies and regular updates to the board.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess an accounting qualification, (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience. Candidates who are Part Qualified or QBE will also be considered. You will possess ssignificant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the education, public sector, or charity sector. Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting in a multi-entity environment is desirable and eexcellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to develop and motivate staff will prove useful.
