Job Description:
Transport Maintenance Technician
Location: Newbridge, Scotland
Shift Pattern: Full Time: Monday - Friday
Salary: Competitive based on experience
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transport Maintenance Technician to join our team in Newbridge. As part of a leading provider of environmental and sustainability solutions across the UK and Ireland, we are committed to driving meaningful change in waste management, resource recovery, and circular economy initiatives. Our mission is to recycle materials, generate clean energy, and advance sustainable practices. In this pivotal role, you will ensure our fleet and plant equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational, minimising downtime and supporting our vital work in building a greener future.
Responsibilities:
*Perform repairs to meet Operator Licence standards, manage defect repairs promptly, and carry out mechanical and electrical tasks to ensure vehicle safety and availability.
*Fabricate and replace hydraulic hoses, weld and refurbish containers, and repaint and apply company graphics to maintain fleet and equipment standards.
*Collaborate with third-party engineers for maintenance support and assist in preparing vehicles for disposal.
*Order necessary parts and consumables while monitoring and addressing daily vehicle defect reports to minimise downtime.
Experience Required:
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
*Full UK driver’s licence.
*Experience in mechanical and electrical repairs.
*Strong ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
*Qualified to HNC Engineering standard or higher.
Desirable Skills:
*HGV Class 2 licence (training available for the right candidate).
*Qualifications in fabrication and welding.
*Knowledge of hydraulic systems and repairs.
