Job Description:
Drama/Performing Arts Teacher (SEND)
Wilds Lodge School - Rutland
MPS + SEN Point
Maternity Cover and Full time
To start January 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our wonderful school and work with our exceptional students who experience a range of needs including SEMH and ASD. If you are a Teacher who can enthuse, motivate and engage students and would like the challenge of working in a demanding and rewarding environment, then we want to hear from you!
Job role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Drama/Performing Arts specialist to work with our KS3-5 pupils who have a wide range of ability levels. The main responsibility of this position will include delivering engaging and creative Drama/Performing Arts lessons tailored to the needs of students with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH). Your lessons will challenge and to inspire a love of learning, build confidence, and support emotional development. This role would be suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers. Previous experience working within SEN is not essential, however you will need to have the ability to motivate and effectively communicate with children who have SEMH. The ability to deliver other subjects at KS3 would be advantageous.
Regardless of experience, the successful candidate will have the ability to embrace the inclusive therapeutic culture and ethos of the school. A strong commitment to raising achievement and standards is required along with an informed and creative approach to curriculum delivery. The opportunity to teach another relevant subject may be available to an interested candidate.
