Job Description:
Empowering Learning are working with a Special School in Sheffield S20 area who are seeking Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Support Workers to support in their classrooms on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. These roles are temp to perm and are to start in January. Working hours would be 8:30 am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.
’’’Duties’’’
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
- Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
- Support students in their academic and social development.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus.
