Job Description:

As a booking clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the frontline healthcare services provided by our client. You will be responsible for efficiently scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth operation within the department. This temporary position offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to the future of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
*Book, cancel, and reschedule outpatient appointments and day case admissions according to SOPs.
*Answer and make calls via call centre software, ensuring timely responses and meeting organisation standards.
*Maintain high customer service standards and manage patient journey using hospital systems.
*Monitor waiting lists and escalate issues when capacity limits are reached.
*Handle phone calls professionally, providing accurate information and rebooking appointments.
*Schedule appointments per clinical instructions, coordinating with clinical administration teams.
*Collaborate with clinicians, managers, administrative staff, GPs, patients, and families professionally.
*Adhere to organisational processes and provide cover for leave as needed.
*Participate in team meetings, service improvement initiatives, and projects.
*Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with policies and procedures.
*Support the organisation as needed and maintain a positive reputation.
Your skills:

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
*Proficient in using computer systems and databases
