Job Description:
Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an Ofsted rated "Outstanding" SEND school in Halton as they are looking to appoint a reliable and experienced SEN teaching assistant to support all KS2 classes. This is a full-time role with hours consisting of 8:30am - 3:30pm.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be working alongside the KS2 (Key Stage 2) class teachers to offer a stimulating, engaging and accessible learning environment for all pupils. You will aid in the implementation of a number of positive behaviour strategies to encourage pupil input and behaviours within the classroom and to build strong constructive relationships. You will support a variety of SEN including ASD, non-verbal and GLD, meaning that it is imperative that you take a pupil-centred approach to learning. Other duties will include intervention and boosters, sensory play and therapy, speech and language support, and break/lunchtime responsibilities.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children/young people between the ages of 5 - 11 with complex needs in the last 2 years, as well as:
*An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
*Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contract
What you’ll get in return

*Full holiday entitlement
*Company pension scheme
