You will be working within the finance department (Team of 30) of their London offices on a hybrid basis.
Your new role
*Managing the account payable function and maintaining an overview of the team’s workload
*Ensure adherence to all relevant financial controls and firm policies and procedures
*To identify process improvement opportunities and actively work with other team members to improve and streamline the AP function.
*Proactively engage with wider business on process improvements. Continually gathering feedback and improving the stakeholder experience
*To ensure that service levels and quality of work are maintained to the highest standards
*Managing the team of 3 Accounts Payable assistants
*Delivering timely feedback on performance (both day to day and formal appraisals), identifying training needs, managing delivery and generally supporting the team.
*Distributing and monitoring work amongst the team, ensuring tasks are dealt with on a timely basis
*Monitoring the settlement of all accounts payable related transactions.
*Timely resolution of supplier and internal stakeholder queries
*Accurate and timely inputting and posting of accounts payable transactions, including suppliers and counsel fees
*Processing of staff expenses through Concur
*Review and maintain all process controls and policy documentation
*To work with the firm’s Legal Cashiers team and Billing team to ensure all account payable related transactions are dealt with promptly.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Legal AP experience at a senior level
*Experience of managing AP teams with at least 3 account payable assistants.
*Aderant or Elite knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
*Excellent organisation skills
*Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
*Stakeholder focussed
*Strong communication skills
*Strong Excel skills
