Compliance Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Leeds
Salary: £42000-£47000
Reed Food & FMCG are recruiting on behalf of an established Manufacturer based in Leeds. Our client is seeking a highly diligent Compliance Manager with exceptional attention to detail. This pivotal role requires a conscientious individual who understands the significant impact of defective products on a company’s financial standing and reputation. The Compliance Manager will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our quality and compliance standards.
Day to Day of the role:
*Manage BRC and ISO accreditation requirements, ensuring compliance with both standards
*Oversee the site’s Quality Management System, implementing improvements, conducting reviews, and ensuring updates are made
*Lead the HARA team and manage the site HARA plan
*Conduct third-party and customer site audits related to quality
*Manage the internal audit process, scheduling, and completion
*Handle nonconformances from audits, ensuring they are logged, actioned, and monitored for effectiveness
*Establish and monitor quality and compliance objectives and KPIs
*Prepare for quality meetings and senior management review meetings, including report presentations
*Manage supplier approval and performance monitoring processes
*Oversee the calibration schedule for equipment
*Act as the contact for the pest control contractor
*Write, review, and update site policies and management procedures
*Manage document and record control
*Present compliance updates during customer quality reviews and daily meetings
*Lead the crisis management team, arranging mock withdrawals and traceability exercises
*Assist with quality aspects and cover for the Quality & Technical Coordinator when absent
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven background in quality and regulatory compliance with essential field experience
*Strong influencing skills and the ability to articulate messages clearly
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
*Problem-solving and proactive thinking abilities
*Flexibility and exceptional attention to detail
*Proficiency in MS Office packages, including Excel and Word
*A willingness to learn and ambition to grow within the organisation
*Experience working to deadlines and targets in a fast-paced environment
*Experience in building relationships and liaising with stakeholders
*Data analysis and statistical skills
*A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
