Laboratory Analyst - Analytical Chemistry
Barnard Castle
12 months
Base rate on offer £20.74p/h (via PAYE)
Shift Uplift Rate £23.51p/h (via PAYE)
Mon - Thurs - 6am-2pm and 2pm -10 pm
Friday – 6am - 12pm – 12pm -6pm
Responsible for:
Job Purpose (give an outline description of the job):
To perform analyses, to support the operation of the laboratory function and to meet the business needs of .
Main tasks (give main duties in order of importance):
• Perform analyses as required by the business.
• Enter data onto company computer systems.
• Checking colleagues work for accuracy.
• Work in a compliant manner and ensure compliance with GxP and Health and Safety legislation.
Occasional tasks (please indicate the frequency which these tasks are carried out i.e. once a week, once a month etc):
• Perform equipment performance checks/calibration.
• Create, review and update laboratory documentation as required.
To participate in:
• Level 1 audits
• Safety inspections
• 5S
• Driving Continuous Improvement
Education and Qualifications
• HNC or 2 years’ experience working in a GXP Laboratory.
• Dealing with: - test result failures, atypical results and associated lab investigations, instrument failures, sample booking in errors, SAP & LIMS System’s errors, material supplier’s issues, chemical spills, GMP/GLP deviations, delays to testing Schedules.
• HPLC
Training
Basic training: minimum 3 months (depending on the level of previous experience)
Approximately 2 years to develop knowledge of broad range of analytical techniques.
