Job Description:
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Needs Team Manager a Local Authority Client based in North London.
In this role, you will manage a team to deliver high-quality homelessness prevention and housing assessment services, ensuring compliance with legal standards while driving innovation and partnership working to support residents effectively.
About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:
*Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality, legally compliant homelessness prevention and assessment services, ensuring excellent customer service and meeting statutory targets.
*Collaborate with external agencies and internal departments to develop partnerships, drive innovation, and implement strategies that prevent homelessness and support residents effectively.
*Oversee complex and high-profile cases, address legal challenges, manage risks, and ensure resources like the Homelessness Prevention Fund are used efficiently.
*Monitor team performance, use data analytics to inform service improvements, and promote a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and continuous development.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
*Extensive experience managing homelessness or housing needs teams, including performance management, service delivery in diverse urban environments, and navigating political or stakeholder-driven contexts.
*In-depth knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness policy, and best practices, with proven ability to handle complex legal challenges and collaborate with corporate legal teams.
*Demonstrated success in developing partnerships across public, private, and third sectors, managing budgets effectively, and leading hybrid teams to ensure productivity and staff well-being.
*Strong track record of using data-driven insights to innovate, adapt services to emerging trends, and deliver improved outcomes for residents.
What’s on offer:
Salary: £35.80+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
