Stores Manager - Lymington - up to £40,000
Are you an experienced Stores Manager with a passion for the marine or engineering/manufacturing sector?
Our client is looking for a Stores Manager to join their dynamic team, you’ll lead a small team to support their refit, repair, and new build functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a wide-ranging inventory and ensure the efficient support of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage and maintain a comprehensive inventory to support operations.
*Implement and oversee materials distribution processes in collaboration with Project Managers and Buyers.
*Organise and manage stores facilities, ensuring efficient counter service, component picking, and distribution.
*Control stocked materials, identify new requirements, minimise redundant materials, and manage costs.
*Oversee deliveries and receipt of materials, ensuring quality compliance and managing returns.
*Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO14001 standards.
*Manage tools and equipment, including calibration, vibration testing, and lifejacket servicing.
*Provide lifting and handling facilities for heavy items and access for working at height.
*Maintain security of materials and First Aid resources.
*Conduct face-fit testing for respiratory protective equipment (training provided).
*Maintain accurate records for all stores processes.
*Drive continuous improvement in inventory management.
*Operate a forklift truck for unloading deliveries.
*Manage end-of-day shutdown and security of equipment and buildings.
Skills required:
*Proven experience managing a stores department and personnel in the marine or engineering/manufacturing sector.
*High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office.
*Experience with ERP systems.
*Strong team management skills.
*Forklift truck driving (training can be provided).
*First Aid certification (training can be provided).
*Knowledge of boat equipment and materials is desirable.
*Familiarity with ISO standard requirements.
