Location: Residential Home, Wellington
Salary: £13.50 - £14.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Are you a skilled and passionate chef looking to make a meaningful difference? We are seeking a Care Home Chef to join our team at a residential home in Wellington, specializing in elderly and dementia care.
About the Role:
As our Chef, you will play a key role in creating nutritious, delicious meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Your work will directly contribute to their health, well-being, and overall happiness.
Key Responsibilities:
*Planning and preparing balanced, home-cooked meals tailored to the dietary requirements of elderly residents, including those with dementia.
*Managing stock, ordering ingredients, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
*Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
*Working closely with care staff to ensure residents’ individual needs and preferences are met.
*Supporting special occasions and events with tailored menus and treats.
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience as a chef, ideally in a care home, healthcare, or similar environment.
*A passion for cooking and a commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.
*Understanding of dietary needs, including allergies, modified textures, and dementia-friendly meals.
*Strong organizational and time-management skills.
*Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
