Finance Administrator
*Location: Aylesbury
*Job Type: Full-time – office based (35 hours per week ideally 0830 – 1630)
*Package: up to £30,000 depending on experience and skills / Bonus / 23 days + bank holidays / LI 4 x basic salary / Contributory Pension Scheme / Study Support for AAT
We are seeking a Finance Administrator to join a Finance Operations team at their head office in Aylesbury. This role involves supporting daily and month-end financial processes, reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing financial data and communications across the business.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Support daily and month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, reporting, and system administration.
*Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations, analysing and reconciling numerical data related to Premiums, Claims, Expenses, Reassurance, Tax, and other financial transactions.
*Liaise with various business areas to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations.
*Assist with accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and arrange payments of invoices, expense claims, and payment runs.
*Review daily funding requirements to ensure bank accounts are maintained at agreed levels.
*Maintain process and procedure notes and support the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Previous experience in an accounting or finance role and wanting to or already studying AAT
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
*Ability to analyse and reconcile data using financial systems, third-party portals, and other software.
*Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions to ensure tasks are completed to required quality and deadlines.
*Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to deal with external suppliers and other business areas.
*Team player with a highly flexible approach to work, especially during key financial reporting periods.
*Ability to work independently and as a key team member.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
*Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
