Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Secondary School, Southwark
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (Until the end of the academic year)
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our vibrant team at a mainstream secondary school in Southwark. This full-time, long-term position offers an excellent opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of students. The role is due to start immediately and will continue through until the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities: *Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
*Assist in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans, working closely with teaching staff.
*Support students in the classroom, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
*Help with the management of classroom behaviour and provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
*Monitor student progress, assist with assessments, and provide feedback to teachers.
*Foster an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere for all students, helping to build their confidence and independence.
*Liaise with parents and professionals to support students’ development and wellbeing.
*Contribute to the overall school environment, working as part of a collaborative team.
Key Requirements: *Previous child-based experience is essential, with a proven track record of supporting students in an educational setting.
*Experience with SEND is required, including knowledge of strategies to support students with a variety of learning needs.
*A DBS check on the update service is mandatory for the role.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young people.
*Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
*A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students and teachers.
*A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment.
