We are seeking an experienced, motivated and focused candidate for a renowned and well established charity based in Peterborough. The successful candidate will work as a Payroll Administrator undertaking the below responsibilities:
As part of a team of Payroll Administrators, you will play a key part in processing and administration to ensure a timely payroll function is delivered for a medium sized charity ensuring that deadlines are met for all payroll related activities.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the role will require the post-holder to have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and have a flexible and adaptable approach to working.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
*Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and team members.
*Full range of payroll duties including annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly payrolls.
*Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC in required timeframes.
*Process Statutory payments - Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, Paye and National
*Insurance.
*End of Year processing including end of year RTI submission and issue P60’s
*Proactively monitor payroll deadlines and addressing any issues.
*Offer support/ guidance to clients in relation to any element of the payroll payment process,
effectively assisting and supporting colleagues within the team.
*Be able to deal with auto enrolment pension, to include Enrolment and Re-enrolment processes.
*Flexible in undertaking duties and responsibilities.
Key skills and knowledge
*Accuracy and prompt response to payroll workload.
*A strong team player who adopts a can do attitude.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
*Excellent organisation skills
*Ability to work on own initiative and within a time to meet deadlines
Key competencies
*2-3 years experience working in a busy payroll department
*Knowledge of pension scheme administration
*Good systems knowledge including Excel
