JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Whitstable
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in Whitstable. This role involves designing and developing mechanical components and systems for a variety of applications, working within a dynamic engineering team.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: *A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
*Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
*Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
*Knowledge of materials, machining, and fabrication processes
*Experience with designing for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA)
*Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Good communication skills, both written and verbal
*Understanding of industry standards and regulations
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: *Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
*Producing detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and BOMs
*Collaborating with production and engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturing
*Conducting design analysis, calculations, and validation testing
*Troubleshooting design issues and implementing improvements
*Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
*Supporting new product development initiatives
*Liaising with suppliers and customers regarding technical specifications
