Job Description:
Responsibilities:
*Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
*Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
*Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
*Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
*Control PPE stock levels
*Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
*Analyse market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
*Use Microsoft Projects to prepare, update and maintain work programs and order materials in coherence with the build program
*Read bills, and schedule take offs from site drawings
*Maintain and update the purchase order log
*Maintain and update comparison workbooks
*Add tender codes to purchase orders, purchase order workbook, and invoices
Requirements: *Possess a working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
*Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Exhibit strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
*Possess excellent persuasion, negotiation, and judgment skills.
*Display exceptional management skills.
*Have working knowledge of financial analytics and profit and loss implications.
*Demonstrate superior presentation skills.
*Possess strong leadership skills.
*Have excellent technological knowledge and abilities.
*Exhibit exceptional mathematical abilities.
*Relevant experience in construction industry and material requirements.
*Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Projects).
*Proficient in appropriate software.
*Occasional domestic and/or international travel.
