Design Engineer – Mechanical Manufacturing | Bedford
We’re hiring a Design Engineer to join a leading mechanical manufacturer based in Bedford.
Specializes in the design, manufacture and supply of advanced braking technologies for industrial applications, You’ll work in an ISO 9001 environment, managing the full design-for-manufacture lifecycle using NX, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
What you’ll do:
*Design mechanical components and assemblies to manufacturing standards
*Apply FEA/FMEA for performance and safety validation
*Lead projects for both new and existing products
*Produce 3D/2D models, material specs, BOMs, and technical documentation
*Support continuous improvement and cost-effective design through VAVE
What we’re looking for:
*3–5 years’ experience in 3D CAD mechanical design
*Design Engineer with Strong knowledge of FEA tools; rotating machinery experience a plus
*HNC/HND or a degree in Mechanical Engineering
*Collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and a drive for quality
