Senior CAD Design Engineer
Birmingham
£37,000K-£45,000K
Monday–Friday
An established and award-winning manufacturer within the luxury interiors sector is looking to appoint a Senior CAD Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with CAD experience and a background in machining or product development to progress within a forward-thinking business.
Key Responsibilities
*Designing and developing products using AutoDesk Inventor.
*Creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
*Working closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
*Reviewing and checking technical drawings to maintain high standards.
*Providing support to the manufacturing team as required.
*Ensuring all design and development work meets the company’s quality standards.
Requirements
*Proficiency in CAD software (AutoDesk Inventor preferred).
*Strong knowledge of metals and machining processes.
*Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
*Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
*Experience with AutoDesk Vault.
*Previous experience in door or cabinet hardware design.
*Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
*Experience with shop floor machining/manufacturing processes.
*Knowledge of creating BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical documentation.
