Financial Controller Nottingham £55,000 – £65,000 Growing SME
We’re partnering with a fast-growing SME that is bringing its finance function in-house, creating an excellent opportunity for a talented Financial Controller to take ownership of finance and help shape how the function operates as the business continues to expand.
The Opportunity This newly created position will see you lead the day-to-day finance operations, produce accurate and insightful management accounts, and work closely with senior leadership to support decision-making across the business. It’s a hands-on, commercially focused role where your input will genuinely influence future growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities * Take full ownership of management accounts, transitioning these in-house from external accountants
* Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, and detailed monthly reporting packs
* Oversee ledgers, payments, VAT, and payroll inputs
* Partner with senior leaders to monitor performance and profitability
* Improve systems, processes, and reporting as the business grows
About You * Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) – essential
* Proven experience producing management accounts and delivering commercial insight
* Confident communicator who can work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
* Proactive, adaptable, and able to build structure in a growing SME environment
* Strong attention to detail combined with a commercial mindset
The Package * Salary between £55,000 and £65,000, depending on experience
