Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated professional to provide consistent, supportive, and engaging mentorship to a young person (aged 12) who has been disengaged from formal education. The mentor will help build the young person’s confidence, foster a positive adult relationship, and encourage participation in activities aligned with their interests-particularly animal care and art.
As a Mentor, you will: *Build a trusting and respectful relationship with the young person.
*Plan and participate in activities that align with their interests (e.g., visiting animal shelters, drawing sessions, nature walks).
*Encourage self-expression through creative and hands About you:
*Experience working with children or young people, especially those with additional needs or who are disengaged from education.
*Passion for animal care and/or art.
*Strong communication and empathy skills.
*Ability to commit to regular weekly sessions.
*Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
* * *Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
*Background in Youth Work, UK schools, Mentoring or other related roles.
*Experience of working with learners with SEN


To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
*Hold right to work in the UK
*Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
*Provide references upon request
*Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
