Job Description:
A well-established financial planning firm is looking to hire an Employed Financial Planner to take on a substantial £35m FUM client bank. This is a genuine opportunity to inherit a loyal and engaged group of clients, with strong recurring income already in place, and to grow it further as the firm continues to expand.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for servicing and developing a portfolio of clients, mostly at or approaching retirement. The focus is on maintaining close client relationships, delivering clear, ongoing financial planning advice, and identifying opportunities to enhance their long-term outcomes.
The firm is acquisitive, with another client bank due to be added shortly, so the portfolio you inherit will increase in size during your first year. You’ll also be encouraged to grow the client bank organically through referrals, introducers, and your own professional network.
If you’re currently self-employed or able to bring clients with you, that will be recognised with an enhanced package and the potential for a golden handshake to support the transition.
Support and StructureYou’ll be supported by a team of Diploma-qualified paraplanners and experienced administrators, so you can focus on clients rather than admin. The business promotes a flexible and hybrid working model, giving you full control over how you manage your diary.
Why Join This Firm (and Why Quilter)? The firm operates as an Appointed Representative (AR) of Quilter, giving you access to Quilter’s robust infrastructure, platform, and investment technology while maintaining the independence of a smaller, privately run firm.
You’ll benefit from:
*A compliant advice framework that supports independence and flexibility
*Access to Quilter’s investment platform and tools for efficient client reviews and reporting
*Integrated risk profiling and research systems to speed up suitability reporting
*Support from Quilter’s technical and compliance specialists for complex cases
This setup gives you the best of both worlds – the stability and backing of a national network, combined with the personal, relationship-led culture of a smaller firm.
Package*Basic salary: £70,000 – £99,000 (DOE and client following)
*OTE: £100,000 – £130,000 in year one
*Bonus structure linked to client growth and ongoing advice income
*Full paraplanning and admin support
*Hybrid/flexible working
If you’re an experienced Financial Planner looking for a stable employed role with a high-quality client bank and room to grow, we’d like to hear from you.
