Job Description:
Time Appointments are working alongside an innovative Claims Management company who are currently recruiting for an experienced General Liability Claims Team Leader to strengthen their UK-based operations. Please note this role is 100% remote, so applicants must be confident and comfortable working independently from home while leading and motivating a remote team.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must have demonstrable experience leading a Liability Claims Team, with strong technical knowledge across Employers’ and Public Liability claims. You’ll be skilled in all aspects of claims management, including investigation, negotiation, and settlement, and will have proven ability in people development, coaching, and performance management.
As a key member of the management team, you will oversee and support a group of liability claims handlers, ensuring that claims are managed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and FCA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead, mentor, and develop a team of EL/PL claims handlers to achieve performance and service delivery targets.
*Oversee the end-to-end handling of liability claims, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely resolution.
*Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex liability, indemnity, and quantum issues.
*Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training and development needs.
*Monitor workloads, compliance, and quality assurance to maintain excellent customer service standards.
*Work closely with senior management to drive process improvements and contribute to business strategy.
*Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused culture within a remote environment.
Skills & Experience Required
*Proven experience handling or managing Employers’ and Public Liability (EL/PL) claims.
*Strong leadership or mentoring experience within a claims environment.
*Excellent understanding of liability law, claims legislation, and complex injury valuation.
*Outstanding communication, coaching, and analytical skills.
*Confident leading a remote team, driving engagement, and maintaining high performance.
*Proactive, organised, and empathetic approach to leadership and customer service.
