Job Description:
We’re recruiting for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join a trauma-informed children’s home providing safe, stable, and nurturing care for young people aged 8–17 who’ve experienced adversity or trauma.
You’ll play a key role in leading shifts, mentoring staff, and ensuring that every young person receives consistent care and support that helps them reach their potential.
What You’ll Be Doing*Lead and manage shifts, ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people.
*Support, mentor, and supervise Residential Childcare Workers.
*Ensure each child’s placement plan and risk assessments are followed and updated.
*Promote education, independence, and positive behaviour.
*Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and their families.
*Maintain accurate records and reports for reviews, meetings, and inspections.
*Model and uphold trauma-informed, person-centred practice across the team.
What We’re Looking For*Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
*Experience working in a children’s residential care setting.
*Proven ability to lead a shift and support staff effectively.
*Strong understanding of Safeguarding, the Children’s Homes Regulations, and trauma-informed practice.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Calm, resilient, and approachable under pressure.
*Full UK driving licence.
