Commercial Account Handler (Existing Business)
Salary: £28k - £34k DOE + Bonus and Great benefit package.
Location: Hove (hybrid working after successful completion of probationary period – 6 months – day per week)
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm
Regular public transport links and off-street parking available.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join my client’s Commercial Renewals Team as a professional and enthusiastic Commercial Insurance Account Handler based in their Hove office.

You will ideally have prior brokerage experience—preferably within commercial insurance—but if you are currently handling personal lines and looking to make the move into commercial, this could be the perfect next step.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage your own portfolio of existing clients, delivering exceptional service to ensure strong retention and growth.
*Handle renewals for policies, maintaining a retention rate of over 90%.
*Manage all aspects of the existing book, including MTAs, MTCs, claims, and additional covers such as Excess Layer and D&O.
*Underwrite and assess risks before presenting them to insurers and authorised signatories.
*Identify and develop new business opportunities within the existing client base.
*Cross-sell and up-sell ancillary products and services offered by the organisation.
*Obtain leads and promote non-scheme products relevant to clients’ needs.
*Act as the main point of contact for technical queries from clients and insurers.
*Manage client claims from start to finish, providing a proactive and supportive service.
*Maintain accurate records on the CRM system.
*Deliver outstanding customer service, responding promptly to queries and concerns.
*Complete CPD and CII training, including mandatory Broker Assess modules, in line with FCA regulations.
*Adhere to all statutory and company procedures to protect clients, colleagues, and business interests.
Skills and Experience Required:
*Proven insurance experience within a brokerage environment—commercial experience preferred, though personal lines experience will be considered.
*CII qualified or willing to study towards CII exams.
*Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
*Solid understanding of FCA regulations and TCF principles.
*Professional, articulate, and confident with strong negotiation skills.
*Good IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and CRM/database systems.
*Ability to prioritise effectively and manage your own workload.
*Proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
