Job Description:
Ecologist - Exeter
An established environmental consultancy are looking for an Ecologist to join its growing team in Exeter. The role involves contributing to a range of ecological survey and assessment work across the South West and further afield.
The company provides ecological and environmental services for a wide range of clients, including developers, planning consultants, and public sector organisations. The Exeter team works on projects of varying scale, primarily in the South West.

Main Responsibilities:
* Carrying out field surveys including habitat and protected species work
* Writing reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and species-specific mitigation plans
* Supporting with data analysis and mapping
* Liaising with clients and statutory bodies where appropriate
* Assisting with project delivery under guidance from senior team members
* Contributing to internal quality control and mentoring of junior staff where needed
Requirements:
* Degree in ecology or related subject
* At least 2 years of experience in ecological consultancy
* Practical knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and relevant planning policy
* Experience conducting a range of ecological surveys
* Competent in ecological reporting and data handling
* Full UK driving licence
* Membership of CIEEM (or working towards it)
* A protected species licence (e.g. bats or GCN) is desirable but not essential
