Job Description:
Are you an experienced environmental professional ready to make a real impact across a diverse manufacturing group? Elevation Recruitment Group are partnered with a multi-site manufacturer looking for a driven Environmental & Sustainability Manager to lead environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and carbon reduction across UK operations.
Based from their Barnsley head office, you’ll oversee environmental management across seven UK sites, covering manufacturing and associated quarry operations. This is a pivotal role in shaping their environmental strategy and ensuring compliance across all business activities.
Key responsibilities include:
*Lead, maintain and continually improve our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System across all sites.
*Develop and deliver a carbon reduction roadmap, including CO2 measurement, reporting and sustainability initiatives.
*Drive waste reduction, recycling and circular economy projects to improve environmental performance.
*Manage environmental risks across legacy sites, including asbestos management and remediation at older facilities.
*Ensure full compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, permits and licences.
*Provide environmental training, guidance and leadership to site teams and senior management.
*Report environmental performance and progress against KPIs, driving continual improvement.
I’m keen to speak to Environmental & Sustainability professionals with the following skillset: We’re looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. You’ll be confident engaging at all levels — from boardroom to shop floor — and comfortable working across multiple sites with varied operations.
Essential experience:
*Proven background in environmental management within a manufacturing, construction or heavy industry environment.
*ISO 14001 implementation, certification or auditing experience.
*Experience with CO2 reporting, sustainability programmes, and recycling initiatives.
*Knowledge of asbestos management, environmental permitting, and quarry operations.
*Strong understanding of environmental legislation and best practice.
*Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
