Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting young people to grow in confidence, discover their interests, and take meaningful steps toward their future?
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting Mentors in Dorchester to work with learners from Key Stage 3 up to Post-16. This is a creative and fulfilling role where you’ll build strong, trusting relationships and help young people engage in activities that inspire them-whether personal, educational, or career-focused.
As a Mentor, you will: *Support young people to build confidence, develop life skills, and explore their interests.
*Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions that motivate and empower learners.
*Help learners set and work towards goals for their personal, academic, or professional development.
*Foster positive relationships and act as a consistent, reliable role model.
About you: *Experience working with young people in any capacity (education, youth work, coaching, etc.)
*A creative, empathetic, and proactive approach to mentoring
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Position -Mentor
Contract or position start date - ASAP
Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A
Full time/part-time - Part Time
Hours - Various
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
* * *Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
*Hold right to work in the UK
*Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
*Provide references upon request
*Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
