The Company you will be working for;
Our client is an established and successful company based in South Shields. They are currently looking for a Warehouse Operative to join their team. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please apply below.
The Job You’ll be Doing;
*Keep warehouse clean, organised, and free of safety hazards.
*Advocate for safety as a shared responsibility, collaborating with teams to ensure adherence to safety protocols and the continuous improvement of safety practices across warehouse operations.
*Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or invoices.
*Sort, label, and stock incoming items in designated storage areas.
*Replenish stock.
*Book in stock using an in-house computer system.
*Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and locations using warehouse management system.
*Ordering of packing materials.
*General warehouse and yard duties, keeping all parts in order and tidy at all times.
*Assist with stock taking and organisation of stock.
*Arrange inventory to optimise space utilisation and facilitate efficient workflows.
*Retrieve items from storage according to pick lists or orders.
*Accurately pick and pack goods for shipment, ensuring correct quantities and proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
*Prepare shipping labels and documentation.
*Check and receive deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality of received items.
*Unload deliveries of parts from dismantled machines, ex production stock, aged stock and all other supplier deliveries.
*Transfer larger parts (cabs, booms, arms etc.) to wash bay using Forklift truck.
*Ensure proper handling of items to prevent damage.
About You;
*Demonstrable experience in a similar role carrying out Warehousing duties.
*Excellent time management skills, a forward thinker with the capability to plan ahead.
*Previous experience using a Forklift Truck, or the ability to attain a FLT Licence (internal training to be provided).
*Ability to work under pressure, with the aptitude to think on your feet and resolve issues.
*Good communication and IT skills, being proficient with applications such as MS Office/ Excel.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to operate large plant machinery such as excavators, wheeled loaders and other vehicles.
*Ability to provide assistance and support to colleagues, demonstrating a hands-on approach with an aptitude to effectively organise and prioritise workloads.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*Experience of working in the manufacturing or construction sector.
