Job Description:
Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP (until July 2026)
Location: Havering (accessible by car with parking and by public transport)
Year Group: Lower Key Stage 2 (LKS2)
Salary: £90-£100 per day PAYE
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only, full time
Tradewind are currently recruiting for an experienced and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with complex special educational needs in a welcoming primary school in Havering. The role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in LKS2 with ASD and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively in learning and school life.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have strong experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and behavioural needs
* Be patient, nurturing, and resilient, with a calm and empathetic approach
* Be able to provide concise and clear instructions to promote understanding and engagement
* Demonstrate effective strategies for managing behaviour in a positive and consistent way
* Have previous experience in specialist provisions or SEN schools
* Build trusting relationships with the child and wider school community
* Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff
Compliance Essentials:
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to work in the UK
* Professional references covering the last 2 years
* CV covering full employment history since leaving formal education
