Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading manufacturer to recruit a Fitter /Tester for their workshop in Elland. This role offers a four-day working week and the opportunity to use your technical skills in valve assembly, testing, and instrumentation within a high-quality, safety-focused environment.

Salary: £36,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, worked over four days Monday-Thursday

The Role As a Fitter / Tester, you will carry out the assembly, testing, and instrumentation of valves and controls, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities include:
*Assembling, testing, and calibrating valve instrumentation, including positioners and actuators
*Performing function, hysteresis, and deadband testing
*Conducting hydro, FE, and vacuum testing of valves to ASME and company procedures
*Maintaining operational logs, updating matrices, and driving 6S standards within your area
*Supporting lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency
*Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and Health & Safety standards at all times
*Identifying and resolving issues through structured problem-solving
*Sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues to achieve team objectives
The Person The successful Fitter / Tester will have a solid background in valve assembly and testing, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality and safety. You will have:
*Essential experience in valve instrumentation, piping, calibration of positioners, actuator setting, function testing, hysteresis, and deadband testing
*Ideally an HNC qualification with at least 3 years’ experience in a valves and controls manufacturing environment
*Proven ability to follow procedures accurately and maintain clear records
*Understanding of Health & Safety and 6S principles
*Good communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
*Basic computer skills (Word and Excel)
*A flexible, motivated attitude and willingness to support continuous improvement activities
