Responsibilities of this role:
*Carry out statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989 to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
*Lead on Child Protection (CP) cases, including convening and attending strategy meetings, initial and review conferences, and developing and reviewing child protection plans.
*Manage complex caseloads involving care proceedings, including preparing court statements, chronologies, and care plans, and giving evidence in Family Court.
*Build effective relationships with children and families to assess risk, promote safety, and develop tailored interventions.
*Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including police, health, education, and legal services to ensure a coordinated safeguarding response.
*Conduct regular home visits to observe family dynamics and assess child well-being.
*Develop and implement safety plans and risk management strategies to protect children from harm.
*Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with local authority policies and statutory guidance.
*Participate in reflective supervision and contribute to team learning and development.
Requirements of this role:
*Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
*Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
