Job Description:
A company in Hertfordshire is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and knowledgeable finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Financial Controller, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day accounts operations.
Job Title - Accounts Assistant
Rate - £20-£23.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Contract Length - 3 months +
Location - Hertfordshire
Working Pattern - 5 days a week in the office
Job Responsibilities
*Process purchase ledger transactions in collaboration with part-time support, ensuring accuracy and timely input into accounts software and CRM systems.
*Input supplier invoices efficiently while managing queries and performing regular supplier statement reconciliations to maintain strong relationships.
*Execute weekly payment runs via BACS, guaranteeing prompt payments to suppliers and maintaining trust within the supply chain.
*Manage sales ledger activities including retail and contract invoicing, credit control, and preparation of ad-hoc sales invoices as required.
*Oversee IRP (Dealer) invoice processing and credit control functions, ensuring all records are up-to-date and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
*Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and preparation of CIS deduction statements for review and submission.
*Prepare weekly cash flow reports and sales reporting documents that provide valuable insights for management decision-making.
Experience Required
*Demonstrate excellent attention to detail when processing invoices, reconciling statements, or preparing financial reports.
*Show proficiency in Excel spreadsheets for data analysis, record-keeping, and report generation within the finance department.
*Exhibit strong interpersonal skills by communicating clearly with colleagues, suppliers, and clients through various channels including phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings.
