Job Role: School Cook
Contract Type: Temporary, Supply, Part Time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:30am until 2pm (hours may vary) during Term Time Only
Location: Trusts Accross West Yorkshire
Pay: £13.68 per hour
Are you an experienced School Cook looking for your next challenge? The Supply Register is proud to be working with a multi-academy trust in the West Yorkshire region as a managed provider, we are recruiting for this exclusive role and are looking for an experienced, passionate and dedicated individual who previous has experience working in a school kitchen environment, The school are looking for somebody who has a can-do attitude and will work enthusiastically.
Role Requirements:
*Previous experience working as cook in a school or care home environment is essential.
*Knowledge of safeguarding children in an educational setting.
*Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
*Must have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one (NB: if you do not already have a DBS certificate, as part of our pre-employment checks you will need to obtain a new one. £65 DBS application fee, plus £16 to add the DBS certificate to the update service will need to be paid)
*Must be able to provide two professional references which covers the last 24 months of work/study periods
What Will You Do?
*Planning, preparing, and cooking a variety of meals for students, considering dietary needs and nutritional requirements while adhering to food safety regulations.
*Developing menus that are both healthy and appealing, working within a set budget and following dietary guidelines.
*Ordering food supplies, following the school procurement processes, monitoring food stock levels and ensuring all food items are stored appropriately and In line with food hygiene procedures and guidelines.
*Managing and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to hygiene standards and safety procedures.
*Briefing kitchen staff each day on the required work, supervising kitchen staff daily, delegating tasks when appropriate and ensuring staff members complete the required training.
