General Driver / Grounds Maintenance Worker

*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2 - 3 months)
*Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour (PAYE)
Rochdale Council are looking for a dedicated General Driver / Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining and enhancing the council’s green spaces.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Carry out general gardening and grounds maintenance duties across various locations within the borough.
*Operate a range of equipment including pedestrian, hand-held, and ride-on machines for grass cutting.
*Perform strimming, hedge trimming, shrub maintenance, and edging.
*Engage in weed removal and general street cleansing.
*Litter picking and emptying of litter bins as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the job.
*Reliable with a willingness to learn all aspects of horticulture.
*Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
*Flexibility to work in different parts of the borough and to work overtime on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
*Desirable: Qualification in Horticulture (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
*Desirable: Pesticides Application Certificate PA1 & PA6.
*Essential: Full UK driving licence.
*There will be a Driving Test as part of the Interview process

*Candidates may be required to produce any relevant certificates or qualifications at the interview.
