Specialist Caseworker – Violence
Location: Pan-London (face-to-face delivery);
Contract: Temporary – 2-month contract (with potential for extension)
Hours: 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday
Salary: £18.48 per hour
We are seeking a Specialist Caseworker – Violence to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people across London who are at risk of, or have experienced, violence and exploitation. This is a vital role within a charity committed to safeguarding and empowering young Londoners. You will play a key part in delivering trauma-informed, person-centred support that prioritises safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide one-to-one support to young people, ensuring their voices are central to all interventions.
*Conduct thorough risk and strengths-based needs assessments, with a strong focus on safeguarding and appropriate intervention planning.
*Manage a caseload effectively, maintaining accurate and timely case records using our bespoke in-house system.
*Prepare high-quality reports for statutory agencies including police, courts, and children’s social care.
*Communicate clearly and professionally across all platforms, both written and verbal.
*Identify safe spaces and meaningful activities for young people to engage in, promoting positive development.
*Make timely referrals and signpost to relevant services, advocating for access to the support young people are entitled to.
*Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, communities, and stakeholders to deliver coordinated and effective services.
*Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, organisational policies, and best practice guidelines.
About You:
*Demonstrated experience in casework, particularly in contexts involving violence, exploitation, or youth support.
*Skilled in conducting detailed risk and needs assessments.
*Strong record-keeping and case management experience.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices when working with vulnerable young people.
*Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to work effectively in dynamic and sometimes challenging environments.
