Transport Planner – Colchester
Salary: £28,000 – £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Transport Planner to manage daily distribution schedules, optimise loads, and deliver exceptional service to customers. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to grow within a supportive business.
Key Responsibilities
*Build and plan loads for a variety of vehicle sizes (pallet, groupage, LCL)
*Provide accurate quotations to customers for transport services
*Utilise the Transport Management System (TMS) to manage and track deliveries
*Process delivery paperwork and issue clear instructions to drivers
*Monitor daily distribution schedules and respond to any issues
*Handle incoming customer calls and general transport enquiries
*Produce operational reports for senior management
*Collaborate with colleagues on compliance, insurance, licences, and training
Requirements
*Minimum 1 year of experience in transport distribution (pallet, groupage, LCL)
*Experience using a Transport Management System (TMS) is essential
*Strong organisational and communication skills
*Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
*A proactive and adaptable approach to daily challenges
