Bookkeeper / Finance Administrator
Location: Worthing (Office-based)
Salary: £26,000 – £35,000 per annum


Are you an experienced and proactive finance professional looking for a varied and rewarding role within a growing business? We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper / Finance Administrator to join our friendly and collaborative finance team in Worthing. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of financial operations within a diverse group of companies across West Sussex and the Midlands, supporting our continued expansion and success. This is a hands-on position offering excellent scope for professional growth within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.


Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial processes and ensure accurate and timely reporting across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
*Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records across the group.
*Transaction Processing: managing invoices, payments, receipts, and expenses efficiently.
*Reconciliations: reconciling bank, credit card, and merchant statements.
*Payroll: processing monthly payroll and pension submissions with accuracy and confidentiality.
*VAT Returns: preparing and submitting VAT returns.
*Credit Control: monitoring accounts receivable and chasing overdue payments.
*Administrative Support: assisting management with financial reporting, responding to phone and email enquiries, and supporting ad-hoc administrative tasks.


About You
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual who thrives in a varied role and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
Essential Skills & Experience:
*Solid, practical experience in bookkeeping and payroll within a business environment.
*Proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
*AAT Level 3 qualification or higher (or equivalent experience 3 + years).
*Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to confidentiality.
*Excellent data entry skills, organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
