Job Description:
Production Manager
*Location: Plymouth
*Job Type: Full-time
*Salary: Competitive
Join our team as a Production Manager at a state-of-the-art fabrication facility that delivers exceptional workshop solutions for top manufacturers in the luxury automotive and motorsport sectors. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of projects from initial CAD design through to manufacturing, encompassing services like CNC panel bending, laser cutting, powder coating, and assembly.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Collaborate closely with the General Manager to communicate all production risks, including staff shortages, bottlenecks, and production issues.
*Oversee recruitment, development, and reward of personnel.
*Manage stock levels actively, ensuring accuracy, ordering, expediting, and driving cost reductions.
*Handle personnel and process performance management.
*Maintain personnel records, including induction, training, and appraisals.
*Ensure optimal utilisation of personnel and spearhead change initiatives to boost productivity.
*Support Quality Management tasks as required and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
*Facilitate close interaction with the Manufacturing team to ensure cohesive operations.
*Review new customer orders and manage the effective issuing and control of works order documentation.
*Monitor and replenish material stocks for manufacturing teams, create purchase orders, and expedite stock items as needed.
*Identify and control defects and perform other related tasks as required.
*Promote and enforce the Health & Safety Policy, ensuring compliance with all safety rules.
*Uphold company quality standards through various verification and analysis techniques, and drive scrap reduction initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Level 3 or 5 Certificate or Diploma in Management Studies; HNC degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
*IOSH or Nebosh certification.
*Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role within fabrication or machining manufacturing.
*Proven leadership experience and ability to meet daily production targets.
*Demonstrable success in implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques, including 5S and Six Sigma.
*Exceptional team building, communication skills, and a resilient, flexible, and self-motivated attitude.
