Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

The Role
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Assistant to join the finance and administration team. This is a full-time, office-based position at the head office in Sudbury. Candidates should have prior experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable and be able to commute reliably.
You will be responsible for supporting the finance team, managing supplier accounts, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely payments.
Key Responsibilities
*Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding to the nominal ledger
*Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
*Perform regular payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid on time
*Maintain accurate creditor records, including new supplier setups and allocation queries
*Reconcile supplier statements and resolve issues promptly
*Assist with month-end and year-end processes
*Support internal audits and ensure compliance with procedures
*Liaise with other departments to resolve purchase ledger queries
*Provide ad hoc administrative and financial support
Essential Skills & Attributes
*Previous experience in purchase ledger, accounts payable, or similar finance role
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Good numeracy, literacy, and organisational skills
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
*AAT qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
