Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary Academy
Location: Bournemouth
Job Type: Temporary - Term Time Only (39 weeks), 35 hours/week. This could lead to a temp to perm opportunity.
Our client is seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Assistant to join their Behaviour Support Team and help promote positive student behaviour across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage the Reset Room, triaging students and supporting reflection and reintegration into lessons.
*Record behaviour incidents accurately on the school MIS and ensure timely communication with parents.
*Work closely with pastoral, inclusion, and leadership teams to maintain student support plans and generate behaviour data.
*Contribute to a preventative approach to student wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate will:
*Have strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Be confident in interpreting and presenting behaviour data to support decision-making.
*Have experience managing challenging behaviour while remaining calm, patient, and supportive.
*Be passionate about supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
*Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Be IT literate, with experience using MS Office and school databases.
*Be flexible and collaborative, working as part of a dedicated Behaviour Support Team.
*Maintain a calm and professional presence in all situations.
